Hey Judy, you could look into your local glass place and see how much they would charge to get the panels you need cut to size. It will be SIGNIFICANTLY less than $1,000 FOR SURE. From there you can purchase mirror spray paint that you can paint the backs of the glass with. It will not be a "perfect" mirror, it will actually give you more of what you're looking for. The last mirror spray paint I tried was called "Krylon Looking Glass Silver-Like Aerosol Spray Paint 6 Oz." and I ordered it on Amazon, it created a pretty cool look.
Rustoleum Mirror Magic spray paint is another one. Spray the back of plain glass to convert it to a mirror.
