Hi! I would use stick on numbers that are self-adhesive like these: https://smile.amazon.com/Fancy-White-Reflective-Mailbox-Number/dp/B00652ET7M/ref=sr_1_10?s=hardware&ie=UTF8&qid=1531423535&sr=1-10&keywords=stick+on+numbers
Something weatherproof, for your climate. Copper will tarnish. Stainless steel can rust.
Those reflective stick on ones? They seem to last forever from the mailboxes I've seen.
Choosing numbers that screw in, rather than flat, enables you to paint them with glow-in-dark paint. Not only will they be much easier to see at night, in rainy or stormy weather, but it will make it faster to find your home in an emergency.
Cast aluminum may be a choice for you. This climate is also tough, so sometimes adding a good coat of car wax to the numbers (even cast aluminum) slows the effects of the weather.
