How to lay stone tiles for a patio?
What is the best way to lay stone tiles for a patio? I am not sure if you need to lay pea gravel down first and then fill in the gaps with sand or if the tiles should lay flush on the ground.

Just be careful with all the lifting!
We leveled the ground first, then added sand, then put down the tiles and leveled each one as we went , itself and with the other tiles down. We did not mind our grass coming up between the tiles, but if we had, we would have put down weed barrier paper before the sand.
