What mastic would be best?
I live in the desert and I have a block wall that I plan to decorate with a mosaic. I will use found stuff mostly; flat rocks, broken dishes and tiles, glass, buttons, etc. I need to know . . what would work best to attach the pieces to the block wall?

I would go to Lowes or HD and explain what you are doing and get some answers.
Thank you for the good advice and the links! It seems that thin set motor is best for my application so I will go with that!
