Advice for kitchen cabinets redone ?
I have oak kitchen cabinets, the cabinets are in good condition but I’m bored. My whole house is oak, my ex husband lived oak. I would love to do a change I don’t know how and will it go with the rest of the house

Paint them white! Brighten up the whole space! And start changing thing to go with them to bring it all together! And do what you love, make it your own!
Hi Sheli! Sounds like you need some updating. Oak can be stained darker, painted, whitewashed. I suggest doing a good prep that will involve removing grime and the finish. Gel stain doesn't have to penetrate like other stains do, so works with oak. I have oak in my kitchen, and after whitewashing my oak kitchen table has made me think of whitewashing the cabinets, it has updated the look so much. When I do, I'll probably do the end panels solid white. Painting the rooms, the woodwork, etc, is an inexpensive update and can totally change the look of a house. Do some browsing, look at your natural lighting in your home, buy some paint samples and have fun updating your kitchen and your home to reflect you!
