How to refinish a plank ceiling?

I want to take down the ceiling tiles in my kitchen and refinish the plank ceiling. What is the best way to refinish the ceiling underneath?

Hi Erin, it really depends on what look you're going for. You could consider a white wash, that would keep it light but still keep the look of the wood. After that I would put on at least two coats of a sealant because its in a kitchen.
