How to fix siding damage?

We have a damaged piece of white siding on the front of our house. How can we fix it or have it repaired without it sticking out like a sore thumb or replacing all the siding?

Most of the time you can take a piece of the siding off and take it to the diy store to get a close but not exact match. Put the nota match on the back of the house, relocate a siding piece to the front. Many times it’s been suggested that people save a few siding pieces just for wind damage etc.

    Vinyl siding?

Hi Susan! It depends on what type of siding it is, and if you are willing to give my suggestion a try. I know from experience how hard it is to match vinyl siding (which is what we have). But, if you are willing to swap out a piece from a less obvious place (in my case, on the side wall of our enclosed porch, which you can not see unless you look directly from that side) and use the replacement piece where it is less obvious.

I had a tenant place a grill too close to the vinyl siding and it melted. I was able to take the piece to a home improvement store where they were able to match it and order me a new piece. I replaced a few staggered layers so it would blend better but after a few months it matched perfectly, just needed some sun bleach to blend lol
