I had the same problem and painted the yellow centers of the feeding tubes blue. I’ve heard that wasps are attracted to yellow. It’s helped somewhat, but the problem seems much better.
purchase a fake nest, they look real, some will even house the bee's
Have rubbed Vicks on the area near the feeding holes, helps some and doesn't bother the humming birds.
Give them a feeder of their own. fill a shallow tray (flower pot saucer) with small rocks or marbles and add sugar water. it is easier for bees and wasps to get to and they won't get trapped and drown. I had hornets visiting during one hot dry summer and did this. they preferred this and left the hummers alone.
My friend hung up a paper bag stuffed with wadded paper or even plastic bags under the eave of both front and back porches and all wasps left the are thinking it was a territory o another nest.
