I have tile floors everywhere. I don't have the budget to jack-hammer out the tile to replace with a wood floor. Is it possible to lay down wood laminate on top of the tile?

When creating a brown paper bag floor, does a tile floor need to be removed?
Yes you can Becky. This video will show you how - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfilL82AH_A
I suppose you could but I would buy the thickest best underlayment pad you can otherwise you will have every sound echoing in the house.
I would say yes. There is flooring that have a layer of padding that should be perfect for your project.
I wouldn't. If any tiles loosen up it will ruin your laminate, too Do it right. You don't need a jackhammer. A spudhoe will do. it's a lot like a regular hoe, but instead of the metal end being bent at an angle, it just sticks straight out. Similar tools to remove shingles w/. A jackhammer is going to damage whatever is under the tile-wood or concrete. You can get a tiny version of a jackhammer that is used to remove stucco that would be better. Much easier to control. If you use a heavy hammer, or small maul to break the tile up before you start w/ any of these other tools, it would likely help, too. '
