You can try letting wetting the pots/pans with warm water and then sprinkle baking soda over the grease. After 10 minutes or so, add vinegar and scrub the pan with the rough side of a sponge.

Hot water and Dawn detergent. Also washing the pots and pans right after use while it is still hot/warm is best to keep the pan from building up and accumulation. You can also try some vinegar and baking soda with hot water. But heat in the equation is important to break down the grease. This is where a dishwasher is especially good.

I agree with the other answer's, but I also recommend you might try Totally Awesome Degreaser®, can be found at Family Dollar or the grocery store in the detergent aisle. Works wonders!!
I make a paste of baking soda and water, nice and thick, smear it over the areas of the pots and pans, let set overnight, using a circular motion and the rough side of a sponge scrub away the spots, repeat as often as needed.
