It could be the solution has too much sugar in it. Mix a 1:4 ratio of sugar to water and see if that helps, Donna.
You need to use a feeder that has ant and bee guards. Once the bees can no longer get to the food they will give up. Don't put you feeders close to a flowering plant that the bees are heavily feeding at.
I use the bee guards, and have the majority of bee friendly flowers in the front yard, and just plants near the hummingbird feeder.
