How do you paint a brick fireplace?
This is the original fireplace in my tudor house built in 1929. What options do I have for a new look?

It would help to see more of the room.
Hi. Since the house is a Tudor, you can beef up the mantel and surround. This will be in keeping with the style of the house. Good luck!
I would dilute white paint or a lite gray then try one brick on the bottom out of the way to see how it looks

First you need to clean the brick like others have mentioned. Then a tip I heard on HGTV was to spray the brick down with water just before you start to paint. Brick is very porous and this will help you greatly. Spray a section at a time as you go along . Use a large napped roller not the fine ones that you would use painting a wall University essay writers .
We just did ours ... we used a suggestion we got from here. Equal parts paint to water. We did do 2 coats tho because our original brick did not come out as nice as we would have liked. Tomorrow, we spray paint the brass insert to look glossy black. We’re very happy with our result and thank the people who helped with suggestions here at Hometalk.
Just paint it. I did mine years ago and had no problems!
Dry brush it, thin white, wipe off most paint off the brush before painting, very lil paint is needed to give an old look
