I love Rustoleum 2X for painting plastic. And these plastic crates can be configured in so many ways. You can stand two up back to back. Then either glue or use zip ties to attach the crates to each other. Top with another crate, attaching to the other two. Paint the crates individually, or when you have the design attached. To use the T-shaped design, place plastic or terra cotta pots in each space. In the top pots, plant annual flower seeds or sets, such as geraniums, Shasta daisies, or butterfly bushes. For the pots that are horizontal, use a stone or a wood shim to tilt each one up a bit. Scoop in the potting soil, and plant herbs, petunias, ivy, morning glory, cherry tomatoes; basically small vine plants and herbs. You can change the plants out by the seasons, or change to real or artificial foliage for autumn, winter, and even the rest of the year,
I must add another general idea. These crates are very strong and they stack together beautifully. You can arrange them and cover with padded fabric, quilting, visions, etc. to make an ottoman, a bench, a daybed, a set of doggy steps, a reading nook, a credenza, a desk, or even a temporary bed with a blow-up mattress on top. Enjoy your treasure, and be sure to take pictures and post on Hometalk. ☺️
I have an old wooden one, not sure about the size of the plastic one, but I use mine to store tea. The tea boxes fit perfect in the cubbies.
You connect together and turn them into a bookshelf ,storage, change the color, a cushioned footstool.
I use them to organize out of season clothes to put on the closet top shelf to free up the hanging rack.
