How can I hide my folding bed using a reclaimed piece of furniture.
I want to buy a folding guest bed (with a good mattress) and want to hide it in a piece of reclaimed furniture to keep in my office and one in library room instead of paying thousands for a Murphy bed. Any ideas?

Have you thought about building your own Murphy bed? There are tons of free plans out there, it is the hardware that will cost a few dollars, but you will still save a ton of money. Some are even wall units with built in bookshelves.

I would build a frame around the 3 sides and turn it into a day bed. You can make great ones using recycled pallets. This is an example to give you an idea. I would do mine more finished. https://www.prettyprudent.com/2011/07/prudent-home/how-to-build-a-pallet-daybed-2/
Thanks ladies. Issue is we downsized and I do not want to build a Murphy bed. I was thinking more in the lines of taking a piece of old furniture that has a nice design in front, hollow out (remove back and brace it somehow) and put on casters to wheel it to the side when I need the bed out for guests. This way I can make it look more like it belongs in the small library or office and can use the top instead of having wasted space where bed pulls down. A folding bed (even a full size one) is a heck of a lot cheaper than even the plainest murphy unit. They al km are $1,000 plus before adding bookshelves.
Hi there.

Here is a picture (click on image to see full view) of one to give you an idea.
