How do I spruce up my front ?

    Hi, jr: We use lots of potted plants on the front porch and we do have flower beds along the porch and the front of the house.

    There are so many ways to improve one of the most impactful ones I think— it’s making the front door attractive and inviting. A cheerful color for the front door maybe a wreath and some flowering planters can add such charm and beauty.

    Visual clues on pinterest and Houzz can assist in your color and curb appeal design decision. I have a neighbor with a red brick ranch with blue turquoise door and shutters that makes me smile! Its stunning, especially being a waterfront location.


    A clean defined pathway landscaped to the front door is also important to to direct the eye to go in that focal direction.


    Add some color possibly decorative floor planters, attractive lantern lighting, shutters, flower boxes, colorful annuals, garden flag, outdoor rug or doormat? Organized and clean landscaping beds -with mulch if that’s what is common in your neighborhood or area.


    I personally find browsing the Houzz or Pinterest web sites to have some awesome visuals to consider —to collect all these image or storyboard for future reference, planning and execution. You might want to consider browsing over at these sites utilizing key word searches customized to your specific needs or intere
