When can I cut back a Lilac tree?
It has gotten rather tall and needs to be cut back a bit. I have one limb that sticks outward and hard to mow around. I do cut off the sprouts coming from the bottom. It's more than 6 ft tall and has never been cut back at all.
Thanks

Lilacs are very sturdy. It doesn't really matter when you cut it back. Any time you want to is good.
The time to trim lilac bushes is right after they have finished blooming. before they set their flowers for next year. Here is some info for you: thespruce.com/pruning-lilacs-how-and-when-to-prune-lilacs-1403004
