Karen...Usually when you buy a door the frame is included.
Take your measurements to your local home improvement store like Menards or Home Depot and they will set you up with what you need.
You don't fit a door to a rough opening you frame out the opening to fit the door. Most pre hung doors are standard sizes. You need to measure the opening and get a pre hung door the will fit the openig and shim it out as you plumb and level it. Keep in mind there are codes for entry (36"), bedroom (30"), bathroom (28" - 30"), and closet doors (24"-28").
Standard door height is 6' 8". Your opening of 37.5' wide a 36" door would work after framing. !x boards for the frame. You would also need to put in a header above the door for the height.
Super deal! Please post your project here.
