Oh wow you are calling my name! I love Christmas decorations and this one is fun and has some varieties.
For supplies you need:
A wire hat shape..you can buy that now with Halloween decorations it looks like a witches hat.
1 roll of red mesh...glittery is fun
3 roll of white mesh
1 pack pipe cleaners- white or silver
1 pom pom for hat end or you can make your own with white yarn.
1 floral pick
Glue gun
Scissors
You can get your supplies from the Dollar tree if you want. I also use the video on You Tube for my hat direction. I like this lady, she also shows how to make the Grinch if you want it, its really cute. Her site is Serendipities Closet. I'm making one for my niece this year.
Step 1. Unwrap the black mesh from the witches hat form. You will start at the bottom corner and completely remove it.
Step 2. Starting at the top, fold the end of your red mesh in half and cut the end into and angle. Glue this to the back of the form and wrap around the tip twice.
Step 3. Continue wrapping around the frame, overlapping the edges and keeping the mesh folded in half as you go.
Step 4. Once you get to the bottom of the triangular shape finish off your wrap and glue the edge down.
Now for the white mesh....
Cut your white mesh into 6 inch strips.
Cut your pipe cleaners into thirds
Roll the pieces of mesh into tubes ( it will already curl naturally, just make it a little smaller). Group three (3)of these together and fasten with a pipe cleaner. Do all of your mesh and set aside.
Starting at the tip of the bottom of the hat, attached a grouping of white mesh to the back rung with the pipe cleaner. Next add one to the middle rung,then add one to to the top rung. Move on and keep adding groups of three. If you need to add another one you can, just make sure you add it all the way across so it is even.
Continue across the bottom rim of the hat with the white mesh. Make sure your your bundles are tight.
Add your pom pop to the the top and your floral decorations to the brim as you want. Hang from the hanger that came with the hat.
