How do I transfer my concrete backyard so my kids can play football?
This ugly pebble crete hurts your feet when you walk on it and my children cannot play because there is very little glass out the back . We cannot afford to have it ripped up ...Any suggestions to make it look better as well?? (The green patch in the middle of the pebble crete is grass.) Thank u!

Hi, not the nicest play area for kids. Put a thick layer of top soil down and plant grass onto.

I was thinking check out thrift stores and/or carpet stores for remnants. Toss all over the concrete and you’ll have a padded and a stylish concrete cover.
To do it correctly, remove the concrete, add soil and sod. You can do it yourself, but it will take you the whole summer to do it especially if you need to buy the tools for the job. If you are serious about a safe place for your kids to play, have a land scraper do it in a few days and spend the $10,000 it will cost you.
If cost is an issue, removing cement would be costly.
I searched for playground surfaces and there were many options.
Easy and cheap: I taught PREK and love the rubber mats souls at Lowe’s or Home Depot. They were all weather and pretty sturdy. Not sure if they provide enough padding for impact from football. They would be able to be removed when football was no longer a preferred outlet.
After you know your budget, I would suggest you search on line for possible rubber playground surfaces. Here is one.

Good luck.
Artificial turf and lighting will help. Your yard will become a lovely football field for your kids. In order to play football at night, we can even add some solar lights or portable field lights in there. We need to consider many things, such as the pole height, brightness and solar panel installation. You can find out more on this page https://sportlightsupply.com/can-we-use-solar-lights-in-soccer-field-or-football-stadium/
Ditto I would add some curbing and fill with 4" of sand, then lay down astro turf over the whole thing. Then you can take it with you when you go.
Cover it in Artificial Grass
