I am looking to add media storage on either side of my fireplace. It will need probably windows for media access. I plan to install A 55 inch TV over the fireplace. I could use some ideas and help.

It's such a beautiful fireplace, I think media storage and a TV would ruin the look. Can the storage and TV be put elsewhere in the room?![](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/emojione/assets/3.1/png/32/1f431.png)
sometimes fireplaces are off center in a room making it hard to place furniture the built in would at least make efficient space of that wall however do your neck a favor and find another spot in the built in for the tv and hang something eye catching above the fireplace.
TVs mounted over fireplaces give a room the "wow" look. One focal point to enjoy the entertainment of TV with the warmth of a glowing fireplace. I like your idea. I would remove the sconces, add shelving for your media equipment along with decor. Enjoy your space whatever you decide!
Agree with others on not placing a huge television on top of this fireplace...it is way too small for a huge 55 inch screen above it...maybe you have room on one of your walls in this room for a nice console wide enough to accommodate the TV... decorate the fireplace mantel with maybe a nice painting and some pretty candleholders on either side...check the internet for ideas on how to decorate a mantel.. there are hundreds of photos....good luck!
