How do I remove plastic grids on my metal exterior door?
I have a metal exterior door with a window in the top section. We removed the plastic grids over the window section but now there's a gap on all sides between the edge of the window and the door section around it. How do we fill that section and maintain the security of the door? How should it be finished?

The magnet in the knocker has "welded" to the door and seems impossible to remove. I have to paint the door so if the paint is damaged its not a problem.

Try putting a thin bead molding in place around the window
Hi Lee, I agree with Kathy, Use a wooden bead to take up the slack both sides or thicker glass.
Thin wood molding. Caulk.
