Getting rid of overgrown lily of the valley?

Would edging stop it from venturing out where I don't want it to go? I was told it will burrow underground and come up wherever it can. I do love it but it is strangling other things.

Yes, it will go deep under just about everything. My 90 year old neighbor had it on one side of her driveway and it found it's way to the other side. It is very invasive. I was helping (doing) her gardening and it took me weeks to get rid of it. And it kept coming back for about 4 years until I finally got it all.

Edging will help to a certain extent. They are rhizomes (similar to certain types of bamboo) and spread underground - sometimes far from the mother plant and some consider it invasive. Said to be poisonous. (I have never had a problem, but if you are sensitive, suit up.) Does not grow where I live, too stinkin hot and dry, but grows rampant where some of my friends live. They just dig it out to control it. Two of my girlfriends love them, so they keep a couple patches in their wooded areas on their property.
