But, why do that, use carpet tack strips and put it down so you can more easily remove it when you want to.

That's not recommended because will be an impossible job to take up when need to replace. Will have to remove the plywood.
I would suggest not gluing the carpet down otherwise it'll be very tough to replace when it gets worn out.
