How do I hide an electrical panel?
We are currently painting our hallway off the mudroom. The electrical panel is located in this hallway on the wall. It's ugly and more noticeable now that we've painted using a brighter color. What's the best way to hide or mask it without being too obvious as to what's behind the cover. It's 41 inches long and over a foot wide. Please help!

Best way to make your driveway look like stone with paint?
Several years ago there was a DIY video on how to do this but can't fine it.
You could find a painting that size to hang over it, or faux paint it to look like a wooden door.
I have seen it done with a nice long LIGHT mirror.
Canvas painting to cover
Paint the cover
Hang a cabinet over it
Hang a shutter over it
Chalkboard paint
Oversized clock
Mirror
Window with a glaze on the glass
Make a door
Great suggestions! I like the idea of a nice long picture; been looking at a few at Kirkland's that might do the trick! One of those mirrors that looks like a window pane might work as well. Thank you both.
You can make box with a door for this. Just put a frame with 2X4's around it, depending on the depth sticking out from the wall. Purchase a door from a cabinet store and then put hinges on it. Paint the whole thing the same color as your wall.
Hang a picture over it
Debbie, you can put hinges on the picture so that you can easily open and close it when you need to get into it for any reason.
Hi Debbie - You can either paint it with chalkboard paint or magnetic paint and use it for daily chores, inspirational quotes, pictures, vision board for the family, etc etc. Hope this helps. Hugs, Holly
I had the same problem in our downstairs washroom with this big electrical panel. My father made a cabinet around it with decorative doors, so it blends in with the washroom decor.
Don't cover it, respect local codes. Paint is your best option.
