How often do you need to water potted plants in winter?
We will be moving our potted plants into the garage before it freezes but often do the need watering.

Stick your finger in them at least 2" down. If damp, check again in a few days. If dry, give them a drink. That is how I check on my potted plants year round.
Just don't leave them in a wet saucer to soak up the water into the soil. Don't over water or they will surely die. I know!
The handiest thing I ever bought was a plant watering meter. You stick the rod in the pot and it will tell you if your plant needs water or not. $19.00 Got mine at Amazon but plant stores have them.
