How to plant St. Augustine grass?
Is this grass better than most? Will it keep weeds out? Is it better to plant sod rather than plugs. What needs to be done to soil before planting?

My dad did St. Augustine plugs in our front yard as well as the lake house and it worked beautifully. We live in the Birmingham AL area, zone 7b. We were told that was as far north as it should be expected to thrive.
