battery operated LED lights,they come in many colors & styles(tealights,candles,string lights) get them at any craft store or even big box stores(Walmart,Target,Lowes,etc.)

Hi Linny. I use a tealight. The pumpkins are so moist inside, and get mushier everyday. I have never seen one catch on fire.
Tea lights or carve a hole in the back to have access to light the candle.
we use tea lights with off & on switch
