Be sure your stencil is attached firmly and use less paint on your brush when stenciling near the edges of it.

You can also try sealing the surface first with a base coat, that will help keep some running in check.

Use *way* less paint. It will never be crisp, but when you stand up and look at it, it will read as crisp.
