According to this website- https://www.roofingcalc.com/metal-roofing-cost/ I am guessing up to $5000 but your specific square foot information and specific type of roofing will give you a more accurate number.
What is the size of the home (how many square feet)? The type or quality of material will also make a big difference in the cost.
We just had an estimate yesterday on our 2,200 sq ft home and it was around $8,500.
I'd say probably close to regular shingle roof, difference is no maintenance and lasts an eternity.Costs rise depending on where you live, what metal you want to use(aluminum?copper?) ease of getting materials to your house, roof lines, how many eaves, dormer windows, roof pitch,if you need whole roof replaced top to bottom but this is true no matter what type your looking at.Best option is call a couple local contractors(shingle & metal) and get estimates. If they want your business you should be able to get free est.
Back in 2005 I wanted a metal proof, and had quotes for $8k on a 1200 square ft house. I wanted it because I live in a fire zone, (Woolsey fire going on right now), but the building inspector talked me out of it. Last time I listen to someone else instead of my gut. When I have to replace, I will go with metal. But . . . If you plan on going solar, I have been told that mounting the panels can compromise the roof. Something to investigate if you are so inclined. Do your research and talk to lots and lots of people. I am a woman alone, so they over bid and outright lie to me. Typical for Southern CA, but if you talk to enough people and find the honest contractors, anything is possible.
