How to cover up tiled desk?
I found an old thrift store find. It's going to become a vanity - the wood is in great shape and can be sanded and repainted - problem is top of vanity. It's covered with broken tile - dull tile not shiney - and of course grout and colors that do not go with anything... Any suggestions on covering this up? Thanks for all input :)

Hello Dianne,
Make a lift off/Drop on top to cover it out of timber with a lip, then you can decorate as you wish to suit your own style.
Remove the tile. Clean up and paint or stain the rest of the piece. Then head over to your local stoneyard and shop the remnant section to find a piece of marble, granite or whatever they have. You can find odd bits for pennies on the dollar. Most will cut to fit for a nominal fee.
You could try removing the tile, and having a handyman cut a new wood top for it. Then you have the option of staining or painting the top as well.
wonderful idea - thank you :)
