How do I know if I have bed bugs?
How do I know if I have bed bugs? I have been feeling itchy lately and I am nervous that it might be bed bugs. I really hope it's not because they are so...yuck ! I don't see anything on my bed, but maybe they hide out. Is anyone able to tell me how to know if you have bed bugs?

Hi Sharon. Look in the bedding, box spring, and on the mattress. The bed bugs leave dried black or brown spots. I wish you the best. I am not sure where you live but here in WI my skin is getting itchy from the dry cold air drying it my skin out.

You would have bites on your legs or other unclothed area overnight. The bites usually look somewhat like pink mosquito bites and run in a line as they eat breakfast...move forward and have lunch......move along and have dinner.....
Hello Sharon. I'm Cindy. Signs of bed bug bites are red, swollen raised welts. And they will be in a line. You will have swelling, burning, and they itch. Bites usually disappear with time. You can use hydrocortisone creams and antihistamines to speed recovery. Hope this helps you. Good luck Sharon and Happy Thanksgiving.
Good question! Bites are a common sign, but another way to tell is actually to look for bed bug poop (seriously).
It won't smell, but you will be able to see it with close inspection. You'll need to search carefully around your bed and under the mattress, especially along the seams and bed frame.

Some of the initial symptoms of bed bugs, especially fleas is excessive scratching and abnormal red patches of skin.
