Resolve powder carpet cleaner
Mix up a solution of baking soda, dish liquid and warm water and sponge the spots. Rinse off with a clean damp cloth. Vacuum once dry to get rid of baking soda residue.

Hi Sandra. I'm Cindy. I recommend a product called Woolite Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner. It comes in a spray can with a brush built in the cap. My husband works for a school district and this is what they use for stains in the carpeting. I have used it a couple times and was very happy with results. Good luck Sandra and Happy Holidays.
Ammonia works for carpets. Use it sparingly.
Club soda is the way to go. No residue,no soap. When you use the soap-based product on carpet you can never really get all that stuff back out. The soap actually attracts more dirt
