I keep a spray bottle with half bleach and half water handy. I know that is strong, but I 'm not messing around. After my shower, I give my curtain a good spray all over. Let air dry. OR...you can take it down and wash in the washer with a little detergent and bleach. Hang back up when done.
I wash mine in the washing machine with hot water and air dry.
I've used Bridget's idea with the washing machine with bleach and warm water.
A plain white polyester shower curtain liner is best. They dry quickly and you can put them in the washer with bleach when they get dirty. You can rehang it straight out of the washer and it will look fine.
Bleach will turn plastic and synthetics either yellow or gray. ANY shower curtain can be tossed in the washing machine with white vinegar and some baking soda. NO fabric softener, vinegar in the rinse cup.
I have white fabric "hotel style" liners and fabric curtains but will work just as well on plastic.
Hang up right out of the washing machine.
