How do I repair an outside water faucet?
Have outside water faucet that I have broken off knob. Do I attempt to fix or just bite the bullet and pay a plumber $100 to fix?

Should be a screw that holds the handle to the spigot. You can remove it and go to the hardware store or homecenter and get a matching replacement.
Easy fix, as William says
I agree with William, a new handle will not be expensive and you should be able to replace it yourself. Why spend a fortune for something that will only take you a minutes and a few dollars to do yourself. Just go to your local home improvement store and they will have what you need. Good luck!
You can buy outdoor faucets. My husband replaced ours with one that won't freeze in the winter time (it is tilted to drain the water out before the valve closes). We love it and it did not take him long to install it. You can find them in home improvement stores or plumbing specialty shops. He got ours in a plumbing specialty shop. For a very special faucet that will not freeze we paid about $20, which is more than the normal faucet, but cheaper than buying a new one for it cracking every year and cheaper than a plumber. Instructions come with the better faucets to install them or ask your manager in the home improvement store. They are glad to help
Defiantly do it yourself. It is not a hard fix but the plumber will charge a basic call out fee which is alot more than It will cost you to do it.
