Ho do I prevent cold air from coming though my door?
There is a strong draft at the bottom of my front door. I have tried three different products that attach to the bottom of the door. The first one slid into a channel - replacing the ratty frazzled one already there. I could not close the door with it install. The next two products were supposed to stick to the lowest part of the door (inside facing) but neither of them would actually stay attached. Glad none of these were very expensive, but the cold wind is still whistling under my door!

Hi,Our front door has the mail slot in the door, extreme cold air comes in !Any suggestions will be appreciated!
Do you use your front door often? You could make a draft dodger until you find something that does work.
There are many different styles of thresholds available. These replace the threshold (metal plate under the door) and not just the seal. One of them should solve your problem. Below is a link for one listed on Amazon.

Install or replace the door sweeps on the OUTSIDE of the doors.

The Youtube video all you need is to mount the sweep with the door closed and have the rubber just touch the threshold. The door should open easily but still create a seal with the door closed. Otherwise mount the sweep on the inside of the door with the sweep against the threshold to seal the gap. Door opens with the sweep above the floor but seals when the door is closed
Hello Lee Ann,
Might I suggest fixing a sort of Pelmet or Valance on the inside of the door or a curtain. Had you thought to use a draught excluder dog?
