Hi Nina! This is one of my favorite patterns. I've also made a simple one in the past using a quilted placemat, just folding it and sewing the sides together of an oval one.

I measured my largest teapot by width and height. I cut heat retaining lining(from Joann's) and stitched a cotton fabric to the other side and made a loop for lifting off the pot. It keeps the pot hot long enough to finish the tea without having to reheat the tea. The lining is what is used for hot pads. Ask at Joann's as they can direct you to the item. Hope it helps
Same as what Rose said:

Join Ravelry, it’s free, and search tea cozy. LeTessier Designs, (Lynette Meek), has beautiful designs. I’ve knit several.
Put a blanket on it.
