Hi Joanne,
First clear the area of weeds and level and compact the ground. You can lay weed suppressant fabric down and lay pavers on top of sand or mortar mix. Be sure each paver is level with those around them by using a large spirit level whilst keeping a slight fall towards the area you are intending to put grass. You can buy pre-mixed mortar for the job from DIY stores that you just add water to or apply after paving is laid.
THis will be much easier than laying pavers cheaper too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUG6_hG7Jy0
To complete any exterior project involving concrete correctly, so that it stays intact, does not shift or sink , requires muscle power, a strong back, and a certain amount of physical agility. These are not average diy jobs.
