If it's in glass, you must have a sealed top on it. That keeps out rain, dirt, leaves etc.

Maybe try a small foam paint brush? If there aren't any real plants in it, you could find a cover for it to keep dirt and dust out.

I would try to use one of those cans of air spray you use to clean out key boards on a computer & perhaps a long paint brush with a little water to go around things.
