How do I make the floor of my trailer warmer?
I live in a small trailer. The cold radiates up from the floor and it (the floor) doesn’t get warm all winter. I have laminate flooring right now. I also have an old dog who will not be around much longer. He is leaking urine and I am using throw rugs that can be washed and carpet remnants that are thrown away. Ultimately, I will get wall to wall carpet to see if that helps. Thanks for any recommendations

Straw bales under the trailer then add insulation on top of bales up against bottom of trailer, would help tremendously. Poor old dog you can get him a nice heated bed pad, plastic covered to put under his bedding to keep him comfortable til he passes
put underpinning around the trailer to reduce air flow; insulate the belly .. http://www.e3a4u.info/energy-technologies/mobile-home-energy/step-6-repairing-the-belly/
Hi Sandy,
Sheets of Polystyrene laid on floor from DIY + Blankets you could wash and re-use.
Have you thought to use Incontinence Pants on Doggie?
Insulated skirting , meaning around the bottom outside. you need to have wood panels that you can paint and insulate them on the inside under the trailer to stop the wind from blowing underneath
I'd look into electric in-floor heat, like this one. Be sure the style you select can be used under carpet and doesn't need to be embedded in cement.
Check the insulation under the floor to insure that it is still in place. You may need to add some as well. Underpinning needs to sealed as much as possible. Laying plastic on the ground will help to keep moisture from seeping up, 6 mil should be sufficient. Look for any holes or gaps in flooring that need sealing, you may be able to do with caulking.
