Hi Sheryl - here's a comparison between different countertops that might help you make the decision - https://www.slideshare.net/doll91cart/quartz-countertops-vs-stainless-steel-countertops-vs-artificial-stone-countertops
Hi Sheryl! Personal preference is a big factor. Quartz is very durable. Stainless steel has durability on its side, also. I like the look of quartz because it is so pretty. Both have to be kept clean and maintained. Which do you like the look of best?
I prefer cast iron enameled sinks.
I'm not sure if Quartz and Granite are similar, or maybe the same, but here's what I do: My black granite sink is eight years old and still looks like new. Every two weeks I scrub it down with dish soap (usually Dawn), dry it well, then use Johnsons Baby Oil on it. It only takes a tiny bit on a paper towel and it smells heavenly for a long time.
Granite composite and quartz composite are both virtually impervious to damage. They are crushed natural stone bonded with resins. They are wonderful! Dark colors do show hardwater marks, so you just want to get in the habit of drying it regularly
