I'm trying to grow broccoli in my garden. What did I do wrong that my broccoli grew so very tall and never fruited?

You can see the leafs are getting chewed up & the leafs are sticky. Any ideas & since there small & all grown from the pit in my Avocado's. Help PLZ
How about adding some Epsom Salt to the soil around the broccoli, this in magnesium sulfate, a necessary mineral the plants need. Be careful to not get it on the plant, it can burn it.

What kind is it? Some are biennial (every 2 yrs) Too much heat makes them "bolt".
