Hello, I try to contain the wire mess by nealty folding the cords and controlling the loops with cable ties or colored pipecleaners.

If you are talking about a cord that runs down the wall, try painting the cord with the paint you used on your wall, helps it be not as noticeable.
You can buy cord covers at the hardware store. They are a plastic channel that you can paint to match the wall.
Hi Marguerite. I'm Cindy. Cut a paper towel roll length wise. Place the cords in the cardboard roll. You may need to use several cardboard rolls to hide your cords. Next, paint the cardboard rolls the same color as the walls. This is a stage "trick" when you want to hide something in plain sight.
I took a decorative box with a lid cut out a piece from the back of the box and placed a power strip inside. I then set it on the floor next to my tv stand problem solved with plenty of extra outlets as a bonus!
