It is a raised bed separate from the rest of my garden.
dig a trench a foot deep, add dirt and compost in equal proportions. plant the asparagus according to label instructions. you don't harvest until the second year.
Hi Sheri,
Dig deep, and let it grow for a few years before you harvest!
Everything you need to know about asparagus https://www.almanac.com/plant/asparagus
Hello again,
I did grow asparagus, but only for the fern (I was a Florist in one of my lives). At the time my friend who loved asparagus used to try to persuade me to let it be and grow for the tips alone, but I never did. So I can't give you the harvest you might expect from that area plot as it would all depend on Soil - Plants - Conditions.
sorry! Best of luck, My friend used to say, you only get enough for one person per plant................!
That is true. I am just trying to estimate what we need to eat and store.
Thank you
