How can I fix the corners of my couch where the cat scratched it down?
My cat scratched the corners of my couch (on the back) to the point where I can no longer stitch it back up. Any ideas on an easy fix? The rest of the furniture is in good shape.

This would be like a patch fix so not 100% beautiful, but could be fun if you get creative.
Get some fabric of the same color pattern - perhaps in a solid and cover those areas so that it looks like you meant to do it. Basically hand stitch them in place or you could even use fabric glue.
Scratched area is covered and who knows it might just jazz up the couch if you do this on both sides so it matches.
if you have extra material you could cut a piece and glue over the damaged area -- cut the damaged part away and apply the new. could also use a contrasting/complementary color fabric that you purchase. To prevent further damage, https://www.amazon.com/Cat-Scratch-Guard-Furniture-Protectors/dp/B0078TE8KY and try these tips too... sprays that deter cats ( or dogs) from certain areas, a motion detector SSSCat spray for cats --- pretty sure Amazon would have it too ---
and of course provide your cat with plenty of appropriate places/things on which to scratch -- the fabric, the angle of the area, etc., are all important considerations. Please PLEASE never ever declaw a cat ....
I do have pillows that came with the couch...I'd forgotten. My cat IS neutered, has three friends he plays with. He did the clawing when he was much younger, and no, I would never mutilate a creature by amputating body parts.
Thanks for reminding me of the pillows!

Sew on patch of similar looking material to cover entire area.
