Hi yes you can bring some in for the winter. .dig the roots and put in pot with soil. .I keep some in window then put back in ground in spring. .the ones in ground multiple better than in the pots. .Merry Christmas. .

They will survive the winter on their own. I live in Ohio and do nothing to protect them.
They perk up; become greener and start having baby chicks come warm spring weather.
Michigan here. They are planted in the ground and come back every year beautifully!
They'll be fine outside might need to put pot close to house if you get major ground freeze. What part of Kentucky are you in? I live in AZ my sister in OH but we have 400 acres in Stanton Ky area,next to Daniel Boone National forest. It is so beautiful in KY.

In zone 6, you can mulch with 3-4" hardbark mulch and leave planted in the ground. If you're concerned they won't survive a colder period, place pine boughs over the tops.
