This depends upon your oven manufacturer. There are you tube videos with specific instructions for your particular oven.
Google the brand and model number of your stove to get instructions. Most of the time the adjustment is on the back of the knob.
I am guessing you are saying your oven is not reaching the temperature you have it set for. This would call for a repair person to see if it is possible to reset it.
The instructional booklet you got with your oven should tell you how to do it the right way, if you don't have that anymore, get the make and model number and go to the manufacturers web site and it should have all the information you need. Make sure you have a good working oven thermometer, replace it if it is really old, it may not be accurate anymore.
If you can't reset the temperature permanently, then buy an oven thermometer. Set the oven to a specific temperature and when the indicator tells you that it is that temperature, see what the temperature actually is on the oven thermometer. If it is not the same, then adjust the temperature to the old temperature plus or minus what the difference is.
