How do I fix curtain rods?
I have pole curtains bought at any Home Deco, Loews, or Home Depot store. My problem is I had them attached to my walls by a professional when i moved into my house 5 yrs ago . A yr later they pull away from the wall. We tried fixing them on our own and now they are pulling out again a 2 yrs later. I never had this problem before when hanging hardware for drapes. I am sure they are not attached to a stud and we used the very heavy duty wall anchors for drywall. Foot note this is happening in the whole house. I thought the drapes were to heavy but even with light curtains it is happening. Very discouraged HELP

Every time I pull my curtains back my curtain rod separates.
The curtains are over a French door.
Hi Faye! I know how upsetting that can be. In many places we lived over the years, if the walls were old, etc., this would happen. We ended up putting small blocks of wood where you would put your nails, etc. in to hold your drapes, that way it gave extra support and you don't end up with that problem. Take a look at these links. I know it is upsetting and I am sorry you are having this problem. Hopefully we can help you with this problem. On a side note, I would not hesitate to ask one of the experienced technicians at Home Depot or Lowe's They are very helpful too. Merry Christmas to you! Let us know if you can how it works out for you!!

If you can't hit a stud to hang the hardware you need to use toggle bolts. Inser anchors in drywall will just work their way out.

Hello Faye,
Could it possibly be they are being pulled close with too much force? Maybe slow and gentle might be the answer. Maybe try using more fixings or changing where the fixing are?
