Stain Over Stencil Technique
I have been wanting to try the stain over stencil technique and when I found this little wooden snowflake at the dollar store I knew this was my opportunity.
Here is the little wooden snowflake I found at Dollar Tree.
I placed my Folk Art Holiday Stencil on top of the snowflake and used Folk Art Home Decor Chalk Paint.
To stencil, you put some paint on your stencil brush (I'm using a Plaid stencil brush). You tap it up and down on a paper plate to get the extra off your brush. Too much and the paint will bleed under the stencil. You then tap the brush up and down on top of the stencil.
Carefully lift the stencil and let the paint dry completely.
After the paint is dry brush on your stain. I'm using Folk Art Home Decor Wood Tint.
Once you have the entire thing covered in stain, use a paper towel or cloth to wipe up the excess.
Let it dry completely. I really love how easy this process is and how it turned out.

A reverse stencil technique. Stenciling then staining. Give the stencil an antique finish. Nice concept. Good share and looks cool.
