How can I makeover this simple vintage kitchen cabinet?
I have this kitchen cabinet. It has a brown varnish and is sort at odds in the living room. But I want to keep it. It was in my brother´s house. I send three photos to give you an idea. The cats eating their Christmas morning snack. Sorry about the mess. The kitchen cabinets have been just finished.

Gustavo, you have some interesting and unique pieces there. I don't believe it is out of place, you just need to unify everything with some wall decor and one color that is woven throughout the room. Try finding a wall hanging or art piece that you like, then pulling a dominant color from that art into items on the cabinet and pillows on the couches. This will tie the eclectic furniture together and warm up the room. A nice warm accent color on one wall would also help.
To add to Laura’s comments,
Since that piece is on a section of wall by itself, it can certainly be a free standing accent piece.
Re-staining it darker to compliment the other pieces may ruin its’ “antique value” and I would caution against doing that at least until you’ve had time to show detailed pictures to an antiques dealer or two.
