We eat broccoli at least twice a week and I cook for all my pets and they eat them too - cats, dogs, dragon and occasionally the canary wants some too.
They grow slowly and get pretty big
They need at least a foot and a half in full sun cause they make little bushes. I feed with miracle, a granular fertilizer, compost, and azomite(ground volcanic ash sold on amazon] it takes 60to 90 days and after you cut off the main head leave it cause smaller side heads will grow. I am in the mid west and have no problems they just grow slow
